Food process control: In the manufacturing process FOSS process analytics instruments are setting the standard for real-time process analysis. De-signed for seamless integration into process control strategies, the NIR analyzers provide out-standing measurement stability and performance for clear to opaque liquids, slurries, suspensions, and solids. Whether your manufacturing process is batch, semi-batch or continuous, with FOSS Process Ana-lyzers you can minimize start-up time, determine exact chemical end-points, optimize product con-sistency, and monitor starting materials and products directly in the process stream. There are no environmental concerns because FOSS analyzers require no sample handling, reagents or dis-posables. FOSS experience in on-line analysis makes interfacing an analyzer into your process simple. The systems can be installed directly into the process stream. Analyzer probes are constructed of 316-grade stainless steel with high efficiency inert sapphire lenses and window. Custom probe designs or other probe materials such as rhodium plating, tantalum or hastelloy are available upon request. Single point and multiple-point measurement systems are available. Single-point systems provide dedicated analysis at one optical sampling point. Multiple point systems analyze several process stream locations with one multiplexed analyzer. Multiplexing reduces both the cost per measure-ment point and the total implementation cost. The location of a FOSS process analyzer is dictated by the process sample characteristic and plant area classifications. Analyzers are packaged in epoxy painted carbon steel or stainless steel enclosures, depending on the plant environment. Secondary enclosures are available for severe process conditions.
