Infratec™ 1241 Test Weight Module

The new Infratec™ Test Weight Module allows for automated, accurate and rapid determination of volume weight for grain (wheat, rye, barley, oats). This is done simultaneously as the determination of the other constituents in the Infratec 1241 Analyzer. Results for test weight, moisture and protein content are presented within a minute, with test weight presented as one of the Infratec parameters.

The automatic test weight module provides good support for quality assurance, since all reported results always belong to the same unique sample. There is no risk of mixing up the test results.

Test Weight is often used as an index of milling potential. Moisture content, weathering, kernel size and density, and packing factors affect test weight. The volume weight is also used as a silo management tool to optimise the storage space in the silo.

In December 2003 the Test Weight Module to FOSS Infratec 1241 Grain Analyzer was type approved according to the European Council Directive 71/347/EEC for determination of volume weight in grain.
