Flow Injection Analysis - FOSS provides the latest generation of this product, the FIAstar™ 5000 System for automatic analysis of nutrients and other parameters in drinking water, waste water, soil/sludge and plant extracts. Accurate determination of Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonium, TKN, Total Nitrogen, Phosphate and Total Phosphorus is done according to ISO-approved standard methods. Up to three parameters can be analysed simultaneously.

A full range of Kjeltec™ systems  – More than 20 years ago we modernized the traditional method of Kjeldahl analysis by introducing the first automated Kjeltec system. Today we supply a full range of new generation of Kjeltec systems for a wide variety of environmental applications and sample throughput. It separates cyanide and phenol from substances that prevent accurate analysis according to international methods. Together with a Digestion System it is used for the routine measurement of total nitrogen in water TKN at a rate of 12-15 samples per hour.

Our Soxtec™ solvent extraction systems  are ideal for use in oil and grease determinations in water, sludge and soil. They reduce the extraction time from 4 hours to 45 minutes compared with the traditional Soxhlet method. It can also extract pesticides, PCB’s and PAH’s from plants and soil much faster than Soxhlet. Moreover, Soxtec cuts solvent and disposal costs by up to 65%.

In the matter of water testing our modular PC-controlled analysis system called the MicroFoss™, screens and enumerates the level of microbiological contamination such as E.coli and Coliforms.
