Farming for fuel

For almost every grain producer the Infratec™ 1241 Grain Analyzer  from FOSS is the most important analytical solution when it comes to evaluating the quality of the crop. Infratec 1241 has become the first choice for grain traders and elevators for quality assessment and is currently used to test 80% of all grain traded globally.

The Infratec is also widely employed in the bioethanol industry where two out of three plants in Europe and US are using the Infratec 1241 for intake control.

Farming for fuel
The biofuel industry requires feedstocks with different properties compared to traditional food and feed production. Fermentability or ethanol yield potential are becoming more important than protein or total starch. These new requirements open a new premium market for a wide range of “dedicated” biofuel crops which will help increase your revenue per hectare. Infratec 1241 analyses a wide range of grains (e.g. corn, wheat, barley, rye, soybean, rapeseed, canola) and quality parameters (e.g. ethanol yield potential, protein, moisture, starch, oil content).

Capture the premium
The key to success for growers is the ability to capture premiums by being able to identify and quantify the preferred properties of the crop at the point of trade. Regardless of which quality standard your grain is measured against, rest assure that the Infratec 1241 will give your product a correct and fair assessment at any biofuel plant or grain receival station.

Improved crop management
Receiving immediate feedback from the Infratec 1241 analysis of your crop/batch at the time of delivery gives you valuable information which you can use for further improving crop management, e.g. selecting the best seed for your growing conditions or optimizing fertilizing and irrigation schemes.
